It Was A Beautiful Day For Live Hula Dancing, Mellow Hawaii Music, Excellent Local Foods, Intense Local Art, Vintage Surf Swapping, And Getting A Nice Tan At The BEACH! Thank You To All Of You Who Came Out And Helped Make It A Success! See You At SHACC September 21st!
The VSCC Returned, In Full Force, For The 2nd Annual Hobie Vintage Festival in Beautiful Dana Point, CA! The Sun Was Shining, Coffee Was Brewing, Bands Were Jammin’, And Boards Were Flying! Reyn Spooner Surprised Our Group By Offering Each Participating VSCC Member A Free Event Poster And T-Shirt. Big Thanks Goes Out To Everybody At Hobie, Reyn Spooner, Randy Hild, Bear Coast Coffee, SHACC, And Phil Edwards. We Had A Blast! …Can’t Wait For Next Year. Hobie Rocks!
The VSCC Had A Blast At The 2019 Boardroom Show, Hosted by Scott Bass. Thank You Scott! We Were In The Presence Of Legends, As Dick Brewer, Gerry Lopez, Steve Walden, Lance Carson, And Many More Were On The Scene Scoping Our Member’s Most Coveted Vintage Surfboards And Surf Collectibles. The Vintage Surfboard Collector Club’s Northern-Most Meet In Santa Barbara Was A Success! We Had Members From Localities Such As Lompoc, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Orange County, And Lancaster! Several New Members Joined Our Club, Including The Nice Folks At The Santa Barbara Surf Museum! Let’s Keep Spreading The VSCC Vintage Surf Culture And Love Up And Down The Coast!
The Club Made A Triumphant Return To Topanga State Beach In February of 2019. We Were Beyond Thrilled With Our Gracious Hosts, Chad Marshall and Everybody at Malibu Boardriders Shop, For Inviting Us To Share A Day Of Vintage Surfboards, Free Cold Brews, Killer Beach-Side Views, Live Music, And Beautiful Malibu Locals. Our Club Brought The Goods, Filling Up The Entire Parking Lot With Vintage Surfboards And Historical Surfing Artifacts. Our Club Welcomed Several Newly Registering Members At This Meet, Including Lance Collins (Wave Tools Surfboards)! Check Out The Photos Below For More Details!
The VSCC Gathered Saturday December 1st, 2018 For Our Annual Surf Swap At The Surfing Heritage And Culture Center (SHACC) In Beautiful Sunny San Clemente, CA. This Year’s Event Was In Collaboration With A HUGE Book Signing Event, With A Long List Of Surfing Pioneers Live On The Scene. The Book By Long Time VSCC Member David Matuszak. This Meet At SHACC Started Out Slow.., And Grew Into The Largest Meet I’ve Ever Seen There. The Club Had Several New Members Signing Up, Cool Sunny Weather, Hot Fresh Brewed Coffee Provided By High Tide Coffee, Tons Of Public Traffic From The Book Signing, And Tons Of Fresh Vintage Boards On The Scene. Thanks To Everybody For Coming Through And Making Our Meets So Much Fun:). Happy Holidays From The Vintage Surfboard Collector Club To You And Your Families!

The BIG ONE Came Early This Year, November 3rd! This Was Our Most Successful Meet To Date, With More New And Returning Members Signing Up Than Any Previous Meet!! An Abundance Of Vintage Boards Were Changing Hands, With Patrons Of All Ages And Lifestyles Coming Together To Celebrate Our Common Interest, Vintage Sticks! As Always, Celebrity Sightings Were Plentiful, With Felipe Toledo Buying A Nice Vintage Twin Fin From Our Own David Olson At The Meet! (Nice Job Dave;). Thanks To Everybody Who Volunteered, We Couldn’t Do This Without YOU! Thanks Also To Those Of You Who Donated Surf Items To Our Fundraiser Table. Congratulations To The Three Members Who Won A Special Raffle Surfboard! Another Epic BIG ONE Meet In The History Books..
Members gathered from far and near to enjoy a beautiful sunny day at the Soul Performance Surf Shop In Gardena CA!! We were spread out over a huge gated parking lot area, and setup areas were endless. Some rare boards were on hand, and some boards were changing hands. There was an abundance of vintage surf stoke on tap all morning long, and a nice wide-spread variety of colorful vintage surf displays! Mark Brog’s Soul Performance Surf Shop was also lined with colorful vintage surfboards, and vintage surf stoke! Below Are Some Highlights From The Meet:
This Year’s Pacific City Meet Was A Blast! Club Members Enjoyed Colorful Vintage Boards, Beautiful Weather, Beautiful SurfCity Locals, And VSCC Members From Up And Down The Coast! Several Local Surf Celebrities Were On The Scene! Vintage Huntington Beach Boards Of All Shapes And Sizes Made For A Colorful Event Packed Full With Epic Local Surf History.
The Green Floral Board On the Right, An Outstanding Greek Maui Model Belonging To The Joe And Leslie Passarelli Collection, Was a Winner In the ‘Best In Show’ for Vintage Huntington Beach Surfboards This Year (Pre-1979 category). Congratulations Joe And Leslie Passarelli and Thank You For Your Contributions!
Vintage Surfboard Collector Club members brought an outstanding variety of Surfboards To Doheny State Beach for our 2018 Annual VSCC Summer Surf And Art Festival! We were blessed with a ton of public traffic, live Hawaiian music and dancing, excellent food, and an incredible display of surfing-related art! Lot’s of boards changed hands, and handshakes sealed many-a-deals on this most epic weekend in Dana Point. One of Our Members Brought An Epic Vintage Morey Paddleboard which found a new home with an old friend, Tom Morey! Thanks to all VSCC Members in attendance for making this meet a huge success:).
